About hackathon

Intel is thrilled to unveil a hackathon tailored for Enterprise AI Developers eager to harness cutting-edge technology to address real-world enterprise challenges. This hackathon focuses on Intel's ecosystem and the GenAI Solutions with OPEA™ platform, offering a unique opportunity to develop innovative solutions that drive industry transformation. Participants will have the chance to showcase their skills, learn new technologies, and make meaningful contributions to the open-source community. The hackathon invites participants to delve into the Open Platform for Enterprise AI (OPEA™) and leverage its microservices to innovate using a comprehensive tech stack and leverage the power of Intel's CPUs, GPUs, NPUs and Intel® Tiber AI Cloud to accelerate development using the modular, composable, and secure architecture of the Open Platform for Enterprise AI (OPEA™). With access to these advanced tools and technologies, the hackathon aims to inspire groundbreaking solutions that redefine possibilities in today's digital landscape. Participants will ideate and create prototypes, pushing the boundaries of innovation and enterprise capability.

Further training sessions are planned to set hackathon expectations and mandatory tools usage. These sessions are led by Intel experts and will be conducted across different phases.

Phase 1: Ideation

Session 1: 13th May 2025
Introduction to OPEA™: This session will cover the expectations of the hackathon and provide an overview of OPEA™ (Open Platform for Enterprise AI) and the Intel® tools that will be utilized for idea submission.

Session 2: 15th May, 2025
Building AI Agents with OPEA™ (Open Platform for Enterprise AI)

Phase 2: Prototype

Session 3: 9th June, 2025
Deploy your solutions with Intel® Tiber AI Cloud: This briefing session will focus on the usage of ITAC™ and the expectations for prototype building.

Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation Criteria for both Idea and Prototype.

GenAI applications using OPEA™: Usage of OPEA™ (Open Platform for Enterprise AI) is a mandatory. Noncompliance will lead to disqualification.

Tools to be used during the hackathon during ideation/prototyping stage:

- Platform:

OPEA™ (Open Platform for Enterprise AI) platform and its micro services. (Is Mandatory)

- Software:

OpenVINO (Not mandatory)

- Tools:

ITAC™ access will be provided in the Prototype stage

Intel® Xeon® CPU /Intel® Gaudi® AI Accelerators/ AI PC (GPU, NPU)

Please note: For prototype submission, evaluation will be based on three key criteria: completeness, innovation, and usefulness of the prototype.

What to submit?

Idea Phase:
A detailed PowerPoint presentation in the prescribed format with details on the proposed idea, usage of Intel hardware/software, novelty, OPEA™ platform, and its micro services.

Prototype Phase:
The teams getting into the prototype phase should build the prototypes, submit the PowerPoint presentation & the code through open/public access to the GitHub repository. Also, a demo video is appreciated for the final evaluation phase.
