In this role, the resource is closely working with the product team to understand the functionality being developed and writes robust automation scripts and performance scripts to meet the acceptance criteria.
- As the resource matures in understanding the breadth and depth of product functionality, the resource should be able to bring in critical thinking to ask the “what if” questions to strengthen the tests.
- The role evaluates continuous improvement by improving the effectiveness of the automated tests
- This role understands customer use cases and usage models in production to begin incorporating the right tests in the release pipeline
- This role begins to understand the dependency models and makes informed decisions to test intelligently
- This role begins active engagement in a devops mindset toward rapid deployments and anchors the product scrum team to meet quality deliverables
Your Mission
- Participate in daily scrums, sprint retrospectives, and sprint demos
- Understand and translate manual test cases into automated tests within the development sprints
- Execute and maintain the automation test suite
- Evaluate build quality by examining the test results from build acceptance tests in continuously deployed environments, multiple times a day
- Define test data and reports for both functional and non-functional requirements
- Work with the team to identify gaps, prioritize and resolve issues
- Raise defects found during the evaluation and work with the development teams to get them resolved
- Collaborate with different functional groups (Development and Operations) to identify gaps, prioritize, and resolve issues
- Work with different teams to understand new components being delivered in the pipeline and develop innovative acceptance tests
- Work closely with development and operations teams to experiment and fine tune the environment sizing
- Participate in various POCs in order to keep the automation framework and technology relevant and current to the product offerings
